MOT Testing

Why do you need an MOT and what is it exactly?

It is illegal to drive a vehicle that requires a test on public roads without a current MOT, except when driving to or from a pre-booked MOT Test. So why risk it!
An MOT test is an annual test of car safety and road-worthiness for most vehicles over a certain age in the UK if they are used on public roads. MOT refers to the test that is carried out, the pass certificate is the VT20 issued on behalf of VOSA.

How can you get a free retest?

If a vehicle fails it's MOT but remains at the test station for repair after failure then it can have a free re-test up to 10 working days after the original (the 10 days does not include weekends or bank holidays so the period is closer to two full weeks). If it is removed from the premises or after the 10 day period a full fee can be charged again.

Did you know?

You can't obtain a new tax disc without up-to-date MOT.
To cover yourself driving without an MOT you can actually have your car tested up to month before. In the event of failure repairs can be done within days and your new MOT will run as soon as your existing MOT is finished.

Servicing & Repair

Servicing can differ from vehicle to vehicle, the cost of which also differs too. Therefore at Crescent Motoring Services we can check what type of service your vehicle requires, at its specific mileage or age and quote you accordingly.

Air Conditioning Servicing

Have your car air con system serviced every 18 months. It will recommend that in your car manufacturers service guide, yet when your car is serviced, your A/C system is never serviced. It's an extra, chargeable item, but vital to have done.

Tyres & Tracking

Ever noticed your vehicle is pulling to the left/right on a straight, flat road? For some reason your tyres are wearing unevenly? Then you should go and get your Wheel Alignment checked and possibly adjusted if necessary. If your vehicles wheel are not aligned correctly, then this will cause abnormal wear to your tyres and therefore add extra cost for new tyres.
