Interim Service or Full Service?

What’s the Difference?

Both an Interim Service or a Full service is vital for keeping your car safe, efficient, and reliable, but they’re designed for slightly different purposes. Let’s break it down so you know exactly what to expect and when to book each one.

Not sure which service your car needs? You’re not alone! It’s one of the most common questions we get here at Crescent Motors in Burton.

What is an Interim Service?

An Interim Service is a basic but essential check-up for your car, typically recommended every 6 months or every 6,000 miles, whichever comes first.

✅ What’s Included:

  • Oil & oil filter change
  • Top-up of essential fluids – screenwash, brake fluid, coolant
  • Tyre pressure and tread depth check
  • Inspection of brakes, wipers, lights & more

Best For:

  • High-mileage drivers
  • Keeping your car running smoothly between full services
  • Spotting early signs of wear or problems

What is a Full Service?

A Full Service is the more comprehensive option, recommended once a year or every 12,000 miles. It includes everything in an Interim Service, but goes into much greater depth.

✅ What’s Included:

  • All checks from the Interim Service
  • Air filter and fuel filter replacement
  • In-depth inspection of brakes, suspension, steering, and more
  • Comprehensive checks of all key vehicle systems

Why It Matters:

  • Helps maintain fuel efficiency and performance
  • Prevents small issues from becoming expensive repairs
  • Protects your car’s resale value with a full service history
